something about me

I was born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, where I accomplished the usual things one does; learn to walk, go to school, play sport (kiwi’s love sport), get a job, get married, have two beautiful daughters, get divorced, etc ,etc .

Auckland is an impressive city and if you haven’t had the opportunity to visit there, or New Zealand for that matter, you should consider it as part of your next vacation; it’s well worth a look.

It was in New Zealand, in 2002, that I first started working for Microsoft as a Solution (software) Architect. I relocated to Melbourne, Australia, in 2004 to continue with Microsoft as an Infrastructure (hardware/server) Architect. I switched from solutions to infrastructure as an endeavor to make sure I was well rounded in all things IT architecture related.

Melbourne is a magnificent city, and like Auckland, if you have not been before you really should attempt to visit one day. In Melbourne I met wife 2.0. We spent a year renovating a house together, and the day after the restorations were finally complete in January 2007, we packed our bags and boarded a plane to Seattle, Washington, to embark on our next journey. We currently reside in Redmond, Washington, with our American Mastiff Zuri, and our two Burmese cats Hoshi and Kito.

I now work in the Platform Architecture Team (PAT) at Microsoft as an Architect.
